TITLE: A Systematic Mapping Study on Software Engineering for Regional Digital Twins

ABSTRACT: This talk is about a systematic review that aims to identify the extent, range, and nature of research activities about Regional Digital Twins (RDTs), and the broader research area to which they belong. The study conducted a restricted search of academic databases, grey literature, and conference proceedings using pre-defined search terms related to Digital Twins and Smart Cities. Studies were screened and evaluated to extract relevant data and define an outline for a RDT. The resulting taxonomy provides an overview of the existing literature, highlighting the main research areas, trends, and gaps. The study’s findings can inform the development of research agendas and funding priorities in this important and rapidly evolving field.
