The European Control Conference (ECC) has been organized every two years under the auspices of the European Control Association (EUCA). Since 2013 it takes place annually. The conference aims to bring together academic and industrial professionals in the field of systems and control, and to promote scientific cooperation and exchanges within the European Union and between Europe and other parts of the World. Technical co-sponsorship of the event is provided by the IEEE Control Systems Society (CSS) and the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC). The best application paper at the 14th European Control Conference (ECC’15, http://www.ecc15.at) in Linz, Austria, went to the paper entitled “Further results on fault detection and isolation of malicious nodes in Multi-hop Control Networks” by Alessandro D’Innocenzo, Francesco Smarra and Maria Domenica Di Benedetto from the Department of Information Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics of the University of L’Aquila. The goal of the paper is to provide formal methods for detecting cyber-attacks in wireless communication networks used for industrial automation.
